I am learning to read as I write and edit my work to make sure what I write makes sense.

"I am good at spelling out words.  I am good at remembering capital letters and full stops.  It is tricky to do the date because it is tricky to put the 'y' on the line.  Mrs Wyatt helps me with my writing."

I am learning to make connections between the text and my own experiences to say what I mean.

 "I did this game by myself.  I had to find the letters that go on the picture. It was not hard."

I am learning to add and subtract groups of ten by using simple known addition facts.

"We were adding tens.  It was easy when we had to add the tens together."
