Self Portraits

This term Room 9/27 have been learning to sketch a picture of our face.

We practised in our sketch books first and it was a very long process.

First we had to get the shape and size of our head right.  Then we had to work on our features like our eyes, nose, ears and mouth and other details that made us who we are.  Then we added in our hair and neck and shoulders.  It was hard work but we are very proud of our finished pictures which we coloured in using pastels.

We Are Learning To Read To An Audience

Rory's Reflection:

I like reading.  

I like reading non-fiction books about animals.

When I get stuck on tricky words I can try and sound them out and looking at the pictures might help me too.

I like to read my books out-loud to my mum.

We Are Learning To Add Detail To Our Writing

I like to write about boats and anchors. 

Sometimes it is tricky to make the sentences make sense. 

When I get stuck I can get my word card. 

We Are Learning To Read Graphs - Statistics Strand Term 1

Rory's Reflection:

I am learning about graphs.

It is easy for me because I looked at how many trains I needed to put in the picture graphs.

My sister can help me.
