Butterfly Creek and Rocket Ropes

 

                                                                             Reflection:

       I was learning about animals and how to do obstacles in the air. It was fun to learn about the animals. It was tricky to walk on ropes and wire in the air. Next time I would like to go on the train at Butterfly Creek and go further in Rocket Ropes.

Maths Poem

I am learning to make a poem about maths. It was easy write the words in the poem because we brainstormed it. Next time I want to find words that rhyme.

Working with beebots

Beebots are bees that have buttons to control the machine. You have to code the beebot to go where you want it to go. You can turn left ⬅️ and right ➡️ and forward ⬆️ and backwards⬇️.

Robot Model

Winter

I was learning to write about Winter. It was fun to do the snowman. I was in a group of 4. Next time I will think of more ideas.

Book character

One of my favourite book characters is Harry Potter.

World of robots

I was learning about robot facts. Next I will try to learn more facts about robots.

Brain Facts

If we had no brains then we wouldn't be alive! The back bit of the brain is called the Occipital lobe. Occipital means the back in latin.

Leaves Poem

I am learning to write my own pattern poem. I was able to think of ideas easily. It was tricky to glue the paper onto the leaf. Next time I will try and think of a more interesting ideas to write a poem about something else.

2020 sea week

Hand washing experiment

I am learning to see how fast germs can spread. It was tricky to wipe the glitter off my hands. My next step is to try and learn how fast other things can spread.

Reflection: This is my butterfly art I did. I started with a pencil and finished with a vivid, pastel and some blue dye.

Notice and wonder maths

Stretching a sentence

I am learning to create a small sentence and add more ideas to it. It was annoying  to have to write the sentence down again, again and again. Next time I will try and add some more sentences to make it more interesting.

Picture Books

I am learning to re-write a story. I was able to write everything that I could remember from the stories. I found this easy because when Mrs Fletcher had finished the Zoom meeting I did the book straight away because I could remember the book of the day. My next step is to re-write longer stories.

My Seaside Senses Poem

I enjoyed thinking of ideas to match up with the words. Finding the pictures very hard. Next time I will try and do some different ideas.

Geo crazy art

I have 4 eyes because I have 4 people in my family, I have 8 teeth because I am 8 years old. I found it easy to cut out the head because it was the biggest shape I had to cut out.

My self-portrait

It was fun using the water colour pencils on my self portrait and I never knew that guide lines could help you so much! Next time I am going to try and focus more on the eyebrows.

Korowai and Pepeha

Reflection I wrote a Pepeha and designed a beautiful Korowai. I found this easy because I have done screencast videos before. Next steps: My next step is to try and say my Pepeha off by heart.

Welcome to my Year 4 learning blog. This year I am in Room 13 and my teacher is Mrs Fletcher. I enjoy reading. A goal I have this year is to get into the swimming team. I hope you will enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.
